Set up your migrated account
Sign in to your migrated account, choose your access level, and finish setting up your workspace.
Before you start
You need access to the email address associated with your Starter Plus subscription. That plan is now called the Team plan.
The account holder or an eligible workspace administrator should complete setup. If you're joining as a teammate, use the invitation sent to you.
Sign in
- Open Studio.
- Enter the email address associated with that subscription.
- Select Send me a magic link.
- Open the sign-in link in your email.
You can use a magic link without having a Studio password.
Studio opens your account and guides you through setup for your migrated workspace. If setup is already complete, you can continue to the workspace.
Review the welcome screen
The welcome screen explains what the account migration means for you. Your subscription carries over, and your tokens remain in their existing location.
Select Continue.
Choose your level of access
Choose how you will use the workspace:

The migrated account holder may be offered Owner. Other eligible administrators are offered Admin.
Choose Billing manager if your work is managing the subscription and team access. You can change your level later in Members. See Change your own role.
If you choose editing access, Studio checks whether a seat is available. When all seats are occupied, Studio lists your license keys and who uses each one:
- To take over a key, select it, then select Take over key & become owner (or Take over key & become Admin).
- To add a seat instead, select Add a new paid seat instead, then Add a paid seat.

Before taking over a key: check who uses it. The key stops working when you take it over. Taking a teammate's key removes their access through that key.
Taking over your own key moves its access to your account. Afterward, sign in with that account through the plugin's Subscription tab.
If you add a paid seat, review the seat count and price, then select Confirm & become owner (or Confirm & become Admin). The prorated difference is charged straight away.
Finish setup
The final screen introduces Studio's features.
Select Skip to finish setup and open your workspace. You do not need to create a project to manage your account. Your license keys keep working, and you can continue using the plugin as before.
If you have editing access and want to start using Studio for your design system, select Create first Studio project.
Check that setup worked
Your workspace should open without returning you to the migration steps. Open Subscription to review your subscription, and Members to review team access.
If you cannot finish
- No sign-in email: check your spam folder and the email address you entered.
- Missing workspace or subscription: confirm that you used the email associated with your subscription.
- "Your workspace is being set up": ask your workspace administrator to finish onboarding, then select Check again.
- No access to the original email: contact support@tokens.studio for help recovering access.
