Manage members and plugin access
Invite teammates, choose their roles, and manage access to Studio and the Tokens Studio Figma plugin.
Before you start
You need an Owner, Admin, or Billing manager role to manage members. The roles you can assign depend on your own permissions.
Open the correct workspace, then select Members.

Invite a new teammate
- Select Invite Member.
- Enter the teammate's email address.
- Choose the role they need.
- Select Invite Member to send the invitation.

An invitation to an editing role reserves capacity while it is pending. If no editor seats are available, free existing capacity or add seats before continuing.
Use Resend Invite if the teammate needs another invitation email. Use Revoke to withdraw an outstanding invitation.
If the person already uses one of your plugin license keys, follow the conversion steps below to replace that key with their account.
Join a workspace
If you received an invitation:
- Open the invitation email.
- Follow the link and sign in or create an account using the invited email address.
- Accept the invitation.
- Open the workspace.

If Studio says the workspace is still being set up, ask the account holder to complete onboarding.

Move a license-key user to an account
Existing license keys keep working after the move to Studio. Someone using a key can keep using the plugin as before.
A key stays in use until you detach it from the current Figma account, or invite that person as an email account. Inviting them as an email account changes how they use the plugin. When they accept, the key stops working, and they sign in with their Studio account on the plugin's Subscription tab.
- In Members, find the person's existing license key.
- Select Invite as email account.
- Enter their email address.
- Choose an appropriate role.
- Select Send invite.

When the invitation is accepted, the account replaces the license-key seat. The old key stops working, and the person is not counted twice for that conversion.
For paid plugin access, assign an eligible editing role. Ask the person to open the plugin's Subscription tab and sign in with their Studio account.

Change someone's role
- Find the person in Members.
- Select Change Role. Studio opens Edit Role.
- Choose the new role.
- Select Update Role.

The new role changes what they can do in the workspace. Moving someone into an editing role may require an available paid seat. You can assign roles up to your own: an Admin cannot make someone an Owner.
Tell the teammate when a role change affects their work.
Change your own role
Select Change Role on your own row. You can move to a lower role, but not a higher one, and the last Owner cannot step down.
One exception: if you are the migrated account holder and chose Billing manager during setup, Owner is available in your own Edit Role. Becoming Owner uses a paid editor seat. If none is free, Studio offers to take over a license key or add a paid seat, as in Set up your migrated account.
Remove access
To remove a workspace member, select Remove beside their name and confirm.
To stop an existing license key from working, open its Seat actions menu, select Remove key, and confirm.

Removing access does not reduce the number of seats you pay for. Follow Manage paid seats to change purchased capacity.
Detach an existing key from Figma
Use Detach from Figma account when an existing key needs to be used by a different Figma account.
Detaching clears the current Figma association but keeps the key in your workspace.
INFO
If the previous user still has the key saved in their plugin, it can attach to them again when they next use it. Use Remove key when the key itself must stop working.
Hand over account management
Invite the new administrator using their own email address, then assign the appropriate role.
Choose Billing manager for someone who only needs billing and member management. To hand over ownership, an Owner makes the new administrator an Owner first, then changes their own role. Studio prevents the last Owner from being demoted.
Changing the billing email does not transfer workspace ownership.
